My favourite natural beauty products.

1. Hair mayonnaise: African Hair Shop / 2. Argan oil: Sephora.com

I had never heard of this African Roots hair product. The design is not special or attractive but when I first saw the packaging, it looked extremely funny because of the name: mayonnaise. Even the texture looks like mayonnaise, with a slightly more orange tint than the normal edible mayonnaise,  but the smell is much better. You can  buy it in a Local African shop or online, it costs around 8 to 10 euros for 425g.

I bought this product on recommendation of a friend. Until now, it has been the only hair product that  i'm so happy with. You can use it on colored or non colored hair. I will read to you what it saids on the instruction leaflet: " Enriched with natural botanical herbal extracts, vitamins, egg protein and olive oil to condition, moisturize and strengthen damaged or over processed hair. With regular use, Organics Hair Mayonnaise helps rejuvenate and renew weak fragile hair." And they are not lying. So this is how it works; first, I wash my hair, then, I dry it with a towel and next I put the hair mayonnaise on my  hair. When you're ready, you have to cover it with foil en than heat your head for 20 minutes with a hair blower. After those 20 minutes you have to wash out the mayonnaise, and then I wash my hair a second time, dry it and you instantly see it that your hair looks healthier. But of course, with every product you have to use it a couple of times to have the best result.

Another product that I can recommend is Argan Oil. Argan oil is sometimes called 'the moroccan gold'. The oil is made from the nut of the fruit of the Argan tree.  Its a very intensive process to gather just a bit of the oil. That's why real Argan oil is expensive. You need 30 kilos of fruit to gain 0,7 liter oil from the nuts. This is the same as 15 hours of labour of just one person. So if you buy cheap Argan oil it's probably fake. I bought mine in an organics shop. There are some tips to help you recognize real Argan oil. You have to look on the label to see if they mention 100 percent Argan oil. It is usually kept in a glass bottle. The smell is also recognizable, it can not be a strong smell.

You can use it for different purposes. You can use it on your skin, face, nails, for a good massage and as a hair treatment. I bought it because my nails are not that strong and I heard this oil could be a solution to this problem. So when I do my nails I take a cue tip and go over them. Then I leave them to rest for a while. The other thing I do sometimes is mix 15 drops of Argan oil with lemon juice and then I use it as a hair treatment. You can even leave it in for a night and wash it out the next morning.
